Westfield Athenaeum, Edward Taylor exhibit
Edward Taylor was a Puritan poet, pastor and doctor, who lived in Westfield from the time he graduated from Harvard. His several volumes of poetry remained largely unrecognized until they were discovered in the Yale libraries in 1937.
An exhibit about Taylor is held by the Edwin Smith Historical Museum, a part of the Westfield Athenaeum, Westfield’s public library. The museum’s collections document Westfield history from its settlement in the 1600’s. The museum is open Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and by appointment.
