Forbes Library, Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library
The Forbes Library is Northampton’s public library and also contains the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum, which holds materials from Coolidge’s private life before, during, and after his presidency. The Collection was founded when Coolidge donated a number of papers and memorabilia to the Forbes Library in 1920. After his presidency he donated further important documents and materials, and in 1956 a separate Calvin Coolidge Memorial Room was established. Forbes library is the only public library in the U.S. that contains a presidential library.
