Edward Bellamy House, Family home of novelist
Edward Bellamy, born in Chicopee Falls in 1850, was a writer best known for his utopian novel set in the year 2000, Looking Backward, which became a bestseller and highly influential book. Bellamy died of tuberculosis at the age of 48, in his childhood home in Chicopee Falls. Bellamy’s homestead in Chicopee has been declared a National Historic Landmark.
