National Yiddish Book Center & Yiddish Writers Garden
Founded in 1980 by Aaron Lansky, current president of the Center, the National Yiddish Book Center in a non-profit organization that collects Yiddish and other Jewish books, and is the largest Jewish cultural organization in the United States. Lansky’s book, Outwitting History: The Amazing Adventures of a Man Who Rescued a Million Yiddish Books, won the Massachusetts Book Award in 2005. The Center offers many unique exhibits and resources, including the Yiddish Writers Garden, honoring over a hundred Yiddish writers.
The National Yiddish Book Center is open to the public Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 3:30 PM, & Sundays from 11-4. The Center is closed on Saturdays and on major legal and Jewish holidays. Free admission.
