Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art
Children’s book author and illustrator Eric Carle began his career as a graphic designer for The New York Times and then served as the art director for an advertising agency. Carle’s career in picture books began when author Bill Martin Jr. asked Carle to illustrate Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Since then Carle has written and/or illustrated over seventy books.
Carle and his wife Barbara founded the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in November 2002. The museum holds exhibits of picture book art from around the world, and serves as a resource for families, educators, artists, librarians and researchers.
Open Tuesday through Sunday.
